Why do I hurt after tooth extraction?

After tooth extraction, the effect of anesthesia done during the removal wears off, pain can be felt at the location of the extraction. In the extracted teeth, the exposure of nerve endings in the root end can also cause pain. However, it is also possible to develop tenderness in the gums. In cases where one smokes and does not follow his or her doctor's recommendations, pain may be felt due to some changes in the area of attraction.

It is important to use the pain reliever provided by your doctor as directed. Do not forget to contact your doctor when you have pain that does not go away.
